Anti Aging Products

StemCell_200x200Aging is inevitable, but most of use anti aging products in an attempt to delay the process as long as possible, especially visible signs of aging such as on our skin. The skin ages for two reasons. Clearly some people's skin ages more quickly and more noticeably than others’, but the processes of skin aging are the same for everyone.

First, as the body ages, skin cell repair becomes slower and slower, so that the dead skin that is on the surface of the face becomes more apparent and lingers longer. It also becomes more difficult for the skin to retain moisture, and dry skin looks older and in fact is more susceptible to the aging affects of wind and weather than is moister skin. And then there is the fact that aging causes the slowdown of the immune system, which in turn makes the skin more susceptible to lesions, scarring, and so on.

Secondly, the skin can be caused to age even more rapidly than it naturally would by exposure to the elements, particularly large doses of sunlight. While we are designed to need sunlight exposure, human beings need to closely watch how much sunlight exposure they get or they can develop serious skin problems, including looking older than they are. The rule is the more easily you sunburn, the less sunlight you either need or want, although everybody needs some. Lighter skin blocks less UV radiation from penetrating beneath the surface, so that a light skinned person gets the needed sun exposure faster, and is also more in danger of burning through too-long exposure, than darker skinned people. Use a daily sun protectant on exposed areas of skin such as La Roche-Posay Anthelios SX Daily Moisturizing Cream SPF 15 .

Anti aging products are about preventing and fighting the effects of aging and environmental weathering. One simple anti aging product is an Apricot Scrub. Containing crushed apricot pits, the apricot scrub exfoliant gently but deeply removes the dead, dirtied skin on your face's outermost, visible layer and scrubs out pores, so that the newer, moister, shinier skin just beneath the surface is now what is seen. This also allows the newer, now exposed skin to breathe better and keeps it cleaner. If you use an Apricot Scrub on your face, using it every two or three days seems to work best.

Another anti-aging skin care trick is to use moisturizers like Olay total effects 7-in-1 Anti-aging UV Moisturizer SPF 15, since lack of moisture in the skin, as noted above, is a leading cause of the appearance of aging skin. In terms of anti aging products, the best moisturizers contain low or no levels of acetyl alcohol (which itself has a drying effect) and include Pond's Cold Cream. Research has also allowed the formulation in recent times of more biochemically targeted anti aging skin creams that so far seem very effective for many people and can actually reverse the signs of skin aging. Freeze 24-7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum and Kinerase Under Eye Rescue are two of these creams. Aloe is another helpful substance for anti-aging skin care. Aloe has a unique chemical makeup that allows it to cool skin, heal burns, and generally put more vitality back into your skin. Aloe also helps with moisturizing and can help you more quickly heal a sunburned area. However, many commercial aloe products are very watered down with acetyl alcohol and other dilutive substances. It is best to use a product that boasts it is 100% Pure Aloe or maintain your own aloe plants.

Other proven anti-aging skin care techniques are to minimize direct sunlight exposure, drink plenty of fluids, get plenty of calcium, eat onions and garlic, and cut back on refined sugars.

Aging is not simply decay, it is the accumulation of choices and consequences. John Leonard
